the meadows cl tel : 01803 874143 mobiles : 07738458378 / 07808 328126 email : [email protected] welcome to the meadows cl our web site is now "mobile friendly" the meadows is a tranquil site, set in a pretty valley on a small working farm and surrounded by farmland, adjacent to two lakes, bird and wildlife abound; some evenings deer can even be seen grazing across the valley. the site is flat and there are electric hook ups, parking areas, space for awnings etc. we have both hard standing & grass pitches all with electric hook ups. fishing a well stocked lake with tench, rudd and carp ( up to 6kg) fishing: £10 per half day or evening, please use barbless hooks and return fish. wonderful fishing in a tranquil setting. if you enjoy the peace and quiet and beautiful surroundings then we have the ‘best of devon’ on the doorstep, and are sure that you will love the meadows cl site. visitors comments facilities adults only new shower and toilet block battery charging electric hookups recycling on site suitable for motorhomes 5 hard standing pitches coarse fishing adjacent to site, available by arrangement with the owners. nearest beach 2.5 miles nearest pub 800 yards dogs welcome as this is a rural site, please use eco friendly products where possible. open 1st april - 31st october tariff starts at: £15 pn, with hook up for 2 adults extra persons from £5 p.p.p.n. places to visit general information our cl is ideally situated for exploring the wonderful devon countryside. torquay harbour side is approx 10 minutes away. whilst brixham, dartmouth and teignmouth are all within half an hour. dartmoor, with its grandeur, wild scenery and wonderful walking is 15 miles away and exeter is about the same distance too. exmouth, beer and the jurassic coast are approximately 1 hour and even the wild north devon coast is within a 2 hour drive. local amenities, within walking distance include our local, ‘ the linny ,’ famous for good food and situated in coffinswell village, only 10 minutes walk from our site. in barton, which is roughly 30 minutes walk away, there is a fish and chip shop, chinese takeaway, a chemist, baker and tesco express and atm . national trust english heritage paighton zoo the living coast in torquay , ' torre abbey' in torquay lovely beaches all along the coast. very good tourist information offices in torquay & newton abbot. newton abbot has great shopping and market stalls most wednesdays and saturdays. totnes is a lovely market town with stalls tuesdays and saturdays. please call or email today to reserve your pitch mr john and mrs helen churchward the bothy daccombe newton abbot tq12 4st tel : 01803 874143 mobiles : 07738458378 / 07808 328126 email : [email protected] members only 5 outfits only directions please switch off sat. nav. on leaving the m5 at exeter , keep in the left-hand lane ( sign-posted torquay) a380. cross the river teign. stay in left-hand lane, take1st exit( sign-posted kingskerswell) at the traffic lights come off at the 1st exit, immediately take the right hand lane marked 'milber'. go through these lights to the second set of lights (50 yards) & turn right into st. marychurch road follow this road for over 1 mile, it climbs gently through the woods. at the top of this hill, there are metal railings on your right . go past these, ignore small lane on right. as the road flattens out, slow down and indicate right. you will see a sign for the linny pub & the meadows on a tree on the left, turn right here. there are no road signs. this lane takes you into the village of coffinswell. this is a narrow road with passing places. continue down for 1 mile to 't ' junction, turn left, go past the linny pub & hayloft restaurant. continue along & downhill. we are at the bottom on the right . arrival: after 2pm please departure: by 11am please. view the meadows cl in a larger map visitors comments name: rose pares comments: we had booked to stay here on the 16th may till 18th we found the site to be lovely and peaceful and both john and helen made us welcome we were sorry that we had to leave a day early due to problems with our vans electrics not working as they should and that i was not feeling well. but could not praise this site enough would go back there again no problem. visited: 16th may 2018 name: edward & eileen de-fry comments: stayed at this wonderful site for 4 days in june. truly immaculate site. showers and toilets best we have experienced, spotless. set in a beautiful location overlooking a lovely lake with great wildlife and country views. the owners helen and john were exceptionally good hosts so friendly and down to earth. the star of our holiday was the gorgeous black lab harvey who spent some time with us playing ball. but if you like dogs like we do please don't feed him as labs will eat anything! the site is in a very peaceful location close to a lovely pub with great food called the linny. not the best place to cycle as very hilly, but lovely walks. we cant recommend this site highly enough, the best we have stayed at. we will be back very soon. many thanks once again helen and john for a great stay. kind regards, edward and eileen de-fry. visited: 16-19 june 2017 name: angie pickford comments: comments: well what a place. we had to find a site for 2 weeks whilst we were waiting to complete on a house purchase so we were not at our most relaxed ..... until we set up our motorhome and awning on this relaxing 5 pitch site .... and for us, most importantly child free. both john and helen were very welcoming and very friendly. we were given literature on the site along with placed to eat and drink along with the local shops which made life easy when it came to filling up the fridge. also leaflets were given to us with the local attractions so we were all set to have a relaxing fortnight. we saw plenty of helen who often popped down to be sure everything was going well, harvey the delightful black labrador owned by john and helen often visited too but was never a bother and always enjoyed a bit of fuss. we had a border collie with us who was also made very welcome and provided she was under control at all times she was allowed to walk the perimeter of the site, around to 2 ponds and therefore had a good enough walk several times a day and a dog waste bin was sited where it couldn't be missed so no excuses not to clear up after your dog which every dog owner did at the site. several waste bins were provided and i was able to separate the various bottle, tins and cardboard as i would have at home. this site is in a valley and it was a joy to look at the cattle in the fields in the distance and listen to the bird all around in the hedge row. this is just the site we were looking for to give us some 'down time' before we move in to a house with lots of work to do. thank you helen and john (and harvey) for this fortnight of tranqulity. it is to be highly recommended and may many other people enjoy their stay as much as we have. visited: 12-26 may 2017 name: john & jacqui pedley comments: helen and john made us so welcome best site we have been on peaceful quiet well kept and close to all places to visit good dog walk on site around pools it is one of our return again sites visited: 3/7/16 - 10/7/16 name: di and jeff comments: up among the top cl locations we have visited. once we turned into the campsite we followed the clearly marked sign for 'caravans' and spotted our name and pitch number clearly marked, next to the water tap. the hills on most sides of the 'valley' campsite made it sheltered and warm, the grass was cut short and no levelers were needed. we did a scenic, circular country side walk up to the village of kingskerswell's co op shop to get our daily papers, ideal for dog walkers. the pond setting was very calming, there were geese on the pond and lots of other bits of nature to see or hear, look out for deer and a heron. the campsite is in an ideal spot to vis
